As the year marches to the end, one of our gifts to you this issue of Vegas Prime Magazine is a handful of my New Year’s traditions started since moving to The Entertainment Capital of the World in 2008:
NYE in Las Vegas
Unless it’s not your thing at all, consider ringing in the New Year at a Las Vegas Strip nightclub at least once. Hakkasan Nightclub at MGM Grand, Tao Nightclub at The Venetian, Omnia Nightclub at Caesars Palace, Marquee Nightclub at The Cosmopolitan, Jewel Nightclub at Aria, XS Nightclub at Encore, Drai’s Nightclub at The Cromwell, Zouk Nightclub at Resorts World and LIV Nightclub at Fontainebleau are excellent options.
Weera Thai + New Year’s Brunch
My brother Charles and I are Thai and Laotian, and one of our favorite Thai restaurants in town are the four Weera Thai locations. We start the New Year with Thai food. Also on our must-dine list: New Year’s brunch at Wing Lei at Wynn and/or Genting Palace in Resorts World. Both are fabulous.
Chicken N Pickle
Charles introduced me to pickleball when I moved back to Las Vegas in 2022, and it opened my life to longtime friends and new friends in a new activity. The new Chicken N Pickle in Henderson is great, as it includes pickleball, a Sunday buffet brunch, eat and drink, family-friendly games, dog park, a 21+ over area and more.
Reconnect
There has never been a Christmas or New Year’s Day in Las Vegas when friends or family haven’t been visiting, and I like to start the first week of the New Year connecting with friends and family. My call list includes Chris Kudialis in Beijing, Jack Houston in San Francisco, Austin Rinker in Des Moines and my sister Michelle Harmon, niece Anya Harmon and nephew Shawn Harmon in Spokane.
Resolutions
This one is simple: I don’t make New Year’s resolutions. I strive every day to be a better person. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
