Extreme illusionist, magician and stunt artist David Blaine debuted his new headliner show “David Blaine: Impossible” at Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas in sold-out crowds Dec. 29-31, and he is set to return May 8 and 10-11.
In his New Year’s Eve weekend performances, as he presented heart-pounding thrills and stunned audiences with mind-bending magic and unforgettable stunts, attendees included singer Demi Lovato and fiancé Jordan Lutes, DJ and Wynn Nightlife headliner Diplo, Imagine Dragons frontman Dan Reynolds and actress and singer Elizabeth Gillies.
Before he took the stage on New Year’s Eve, Blaine appeared live from Encore Theater on CNN’s “New Year’s Eve” with Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen, surprising the hosts with a special fire illusion for the TV anchors and viewers.
Before moving to Wynn, Blaine debuted “In Spades” at Resorts World on Sept. 30, 2022. I didn’t know what to expect – I only know about Blaine through his TV specials over the years. “In Spades” was thoroughly entertaining – I was mesmerized, tense and captivated and put my hands over my eyes and mouth in total immersion.
“In Spades” included balloons, high jumping, needles, nails, ice picks, breath holding and more – and the final trick made me say, “What?! Wow!!!” The star-studded crowd opening night included Edward Norton (who emceed the water and alligator stunt onstage), Woody Harrelson, Lars Ulrich, Dr Dre, Eminem, Logan Paul, Rob Lowe, Miranda Kerr, Steve Wozniak, Brian Grazer and Darren Aronofsky, and I walked by DJ duo Nervo.
“Impossible” is more intimate, and there is a lot more audience interaction and participation. A limited number of “David Blaine: Impossible” VIP experiences are available for purchase.
