Great Scott! “Back to the Future,” the beloved cinematic classic starring Michael J. Fox, Lea Thompson and Crispin Glover, is now a Broadway musical with its destination set for Las Vegas in 2024.

Winner of the 2022 Olivier Award for Best New Musical, four WhatsOnStage Awards, including Best New Musical, and the Broadway World Award for Best New Musical, “Back to the Future: The Musical” is adapted for the stage by the iconic film’s creators Bob Gale (“Back to the Future” trilogy) and Robert Zemeckis (“Forrest Gump”).

Additionally, the musical is directed by Tony Award winner John Rando with original music by Grammy winners Alan Silvestri (“Avengers: Endgame”) and Glen Ballard (Michael Jackson’s “Man in the Mirror”) alongside hit songs from the movie including “The Power of Love,” “Johnny B. Goode,” “Earth Angel” and “Back in Time.”

“Back to the Future: The Musical,” on tour and playing in Las Vegas for the first time, has a two-week run at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts from Wednesday, Oct. 23, through Sunday, Nov. 3. For more information and to purchase tickets, go to TheSmithCenter.com.

When Marty McFly finds himself transported back to 1955 in a time machine built by the eccentric scientist Doc Brown, he accidentally changes the course of history. Now he’s in a race against time to fix the present, escape the past and send himself … back to the future. When “Back to the Future” hits 88 mph, it’ll change musical theater history forever.

Attendees Under 18: Children ages 5 and up with a ticket can attend performances at The Smith Center. However, based on content, this show is recommended for ages 6+, though you know what is most appropriate for your children. All patrons must have their own ticket regardless of age (no babies held in arms or children sitting on laps). Patrons ages 16 or older may attend the performance without an accompanying adult with their parent’s or guardian’s permission.

Special Effects: At this time, known special effects include haze, fog and use of fire extinguishers onstage. Please see signage in the theater lobby for updated information.
