I attended the first Electric Daisy Carnival at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in 2011 solo and returned the next six consecutive years, sometimes going all three nights. Cinco de Mayo
There are plenty of options for Cinco de Mayo in town, and one of my favorite Mexican restaurants is El Dorado Cantina. There are three locations – near the Las Vegas Strip, Tivoli Village and Southwest Las Vegas – and all three are open 24/7. Justin Timberlake
Superstar Justin Timberlake was paid a reported $7 million to perform during the grand opening of Fontainebleau Las Vegas in December. Now he’s bringing sexy back to T-Mobile Arena on May 10 in his “The Forget Tomorrow” world tour. Timberlake has been one of my favorite longtime live performers, so it wouldn’t be “Selfish” to see him in concert again. AXS.com
Beverly Theater
The 1-year-old Beverly Theater led by Kip Kelly in Downtown Las Vegas is a gem, and the film house and concert theater is presenting the premiere of “Ten Times Better,” a short documentary that tells the story of 89-year-old George Lee, a 40-year blackjack dealer at Four Queens Hotel & Casino and pioneering Asian ballet dancer, on May 7. Sammy Hagar
Sammy Hagar and Palms Casino Resort are hosting a grand opening celebration for Sammy’s Island, a tropical poolside oasis inspired by the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer’s music and Baja beach vibe, from 7:30-11 p.m. May 17. The party will feature a performance by Hagar tribute band Red Voodoo, who have been known to jam with The Red Rocker. Tickets are free while supplies last. Palms.com
XS Night Swim
The second issue of Vegas Prime Magazine out May 19 on stands includes a pool and dayclub guide for Las Vegas. XS Night Swim at XS Nightclub in Encore is one can’t-miss nighttime pool party on the Las Vegas Strip.
