Acclaimed 1980s British-American rock band The Pretenders have announced a one-night-only performance at Encore Theater in Wynn Las Vegas on Thursday, May 1. The show marks the band’s venue debut, following in the footsteps of other rock greats including John Fogerty, Bryan Adams and The Pixies.
Fans looking to experience The Pretenders’ melodic and rebellious sound after their successful headlining tour last year should look no further than Las Vegas for this special show. Tickets for this performance go on sale to the public on Friday, Feb. 7, at 10 a.m. PT at Ticketmaster.com and WynnLasVegas.com.
The Pretenders’ setlist will include hits such as “I’ll Stand By You” and “Back on the Chain Gang,” in addition to songs from the 2023 studio album release “Relentless,” available now via Rhino Records on standard black vinyl, limited-edition baby pink vinyl, CD and digital download.
Throughout their career, The Pretenders have sold more than 25 million albums, and The Pretenders’ founder and leader, Chrissie Hynde, remains one of contemporary music’s greatest songwriters to date.
“Relentless” marks the second consecutive full-length songwriting collaboration by Hynde and Pretenders guitarist James Walbourne after 2020’s acclaimed “Hate for Sale.” The album was met with critical praise, commending Hynde for her authentic songwriting and applauding the band on their “best album in 20 years.”
The Pretenders cross the bridge between punk, new wave and pop music like no other band, with genre-defining songs such as “I’ll Stand By You,” “Back on the Chain Gang” and “Don’t Get Me Wrong.”
After delivering the 2016 album “Alone” produced by The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach, The Pretenders continue to share stages and lineups with Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac, Guns ’n’ Roses, Simple Minds, Kamasi Washington and The Specials.
