Two-time Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Sir Rod Stewart surprised fans with an appearance at The Barbershop Cuts & Cocktails, the swanky speakeasy and live music hotspot at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, on Aug. 5. Joined by family and bandmates, the British rock legend celebrated the first anniversary of his award-winning Wolfie’s Whisky and the 200th show and conclusion of his 13-year “Rod Stewart – The Hits” residency at Caesars Palace on Aug. 7.
Unsuspecting fans were treated to an impromptu a capella performance of “Have I Told You Lately That I Love You,” and then a singalong of “Ooh La La” joined by his backup singers Holly Brewer, Becca Kotte and JoAnne Harper and Radio XX, an allstar rock band including Ben Carey (formerly of Lifehouse and Savage Garden), Bryce Soderberg (Lifehouse), Toby Rand (“Rockstar Supernova”) and drummer Al Seratto.
Stewart kicked off the evening by stepping behind the bar alongside his business partner Duncan Frew, CEO of Wolfie’s Whisky, serving shots of their spirit. The rock icon then joined his wife Penny Lancaster and his family, including his children Sean, Liam and Renee Stewart, as well as Liam’s newlywed wife, Nicole Artukovich, and Frew’s wife, Lauren.
Breaking news! So much for ending his residency. Stewart has announced 12 encore shows in 2025: March 12, 14-15, 19 and 21-22, May 29 and 31 and June 1, 5 and 7-8.
