Now celebrating its 10th anniversary, Miss Daisy is the go-to florist for some of the most prestigious hotels, restaurants and event planners in town.
“Flowers are universally appreciated and evoke an emotion for all occasions,” says Jessica Marshall, the shop’s locally born and raised owner. “The freshness and presence of flowers create a sense of beauty and luxury for any space.”
From thoughtful thank you bouquets to eye-popping installations, Marshall shares her tips for choosing the best blooms for any situation.
Birthdays
“A bright, happy, colorful, seasonal bouquet! If you know their favorite color, tell your florist so they can incorporate them. Roses, tulips, freesia and snapdragons are some of our favorites.”
New Job or Promotion
“A potted orchid or succulent garden are ideal gifts that do well in low-lit offices and are long-lasting on their desks.”
Romance
“For someone you are starting to like, choose mixed, bright-colored roses. For someone you’re hot and heavy with, go for just red or a mix of red and pink roses.”
Condolences
“White and green blooms like hydrangea, calla lilies or potted orchids.”
Apologies
“Blooms in their favorite colors or a seasonal assortment. Depends on the apology, but you may want to spend a little extra here!”
Thank You
“Seasonal blooms such as anemones, roses, tulips or freesia.”
Housewarming
“Potted orchids or a tall arrangement for the entry table of their home. Gladiolas are long-lasting and make a beautiful statement.”
