The All-Star Jam Featuring Sixwire, at Sammy’s Island at Palms Casino Resort on July 20, was a hot, humid, super-fun and free outdoor concert evening head- lined by Nashville band Sixwire.

Sixwire’s guests were The Rembrandts (“I’ll Be There for You”), Emerson Hart of Tonic (“If You Could Only See”), Mark McGrath of Sugar Ray (“Every Morning,” “Someday,” “Fly,” “When It’s Over”) and Matt Scannell of Vertical Horizon (“Everything You Want,” “Best I Ever Had”).

The crowd was sparse, mostly likely due to the excessive heat weather, but the fans were appreciative of the acts, who performed their hits as well as covers by The Cure, Fleetwood Mac and others. Hart dined at nearby La Popular post-concert.

Upcoming free concerts at Sammy’s Island: The Eagles tribute band Hotel California (Aug. 23) and UnZepped, a unique tribute to Led Zeppelin with a moody, atmospheric twist (Aug. 24). Grammy-winning reggae fusion artist Shaggy headlined on Aug. 2.
